FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How should I properly wrap my hair before bed?
Use your scarf to wrap your hair and then place your bonnet on top. This will ensure that your hair stays wrapped while sleeping, the scalp is hydrated and your style last longer.
~ BRAIDS ~
How long will my braids last?
This depends on what braid style you chose along with the texture of your hair. The smaller the braids the longer they will last. If your hair is natural large braids could possibly last up to 2 weeks. Smaller braids (if your hair is blown out properly before braiding) can last up to 4 weeks or longer. Individual braids (Box Braids) possibly 6 weeks. Proper hair care will help any braid style last longer.
CARING FOR YOUR BRAIDS
~ SILKY PRESS ~
HOW LONG DOES THE SILK PRESS LAST?
The average silk press can last between one to two weeks depending on how active you are in your daily life. It can last a little longer with the proper maintenance between pressings.
HOW DO YOU MAINTAIN A SILK PRESS?
Keep your hair away from water, steam or sweat as it will revert back to its natural curl. Wrap your hair in a silk scarf each night to keep the hair protected. Avoid adding additional heat to your hair. Look for non-heat ways to achieve curls like pin curling. Lay off adding excessive product. You want to keep your hair bouncy and flowy and that won’t happen if your hair is weighed down.
~ CHEMICAL SERVICES ~
1. Chemical services will NOT be performed on damaged hair! This includes all chemical services (color, texturizers and relaxers).
2. Multiple chemical processes will NOT be performed on the same day. If you are getting a high lift or fashion color *please note* that this is a multi-step process that can take a few days. The multi-step process allows you to safely achieve the desired color without completely compromising the health of your hair.
~ MANICURES/PEDICURES ~
~ Regularly scheduling manicures and pedicures will ensure that nails are in good condition and the skin on hands and feet is well cared for and soft. This can help to avoid a number of issues, from cracked hands to painful calluses on your feet.
~ To keep your hands and feet happy and healthy, a professional manicure and/or pedicure should be scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks.
